Radiology and Imaging

Consult a Specialist refers imaging studies to radiologists specialized in specific types of imaging studies and pathology.

Consult a Specialist primarily collaborates with the department of imaging and radiology of The Methodist Hospital (Houston, TX), and the Brigham and Women's Hospital (Boston, MA).

Some of the subspecialty areas of imaging and radiology to which we refer cases for a second opinion are:

  • Imaging studies for cancer staging
  • Mammography and breast imaging
  • Neuroradiology
  • Musculoskeletal radiology
  • Thoracic radiology
  • Abdominal radiology
  • Vascular imaging and radiology
  • Cardiac imaging (cardiac MRI, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology)
  • Nuclear medicine
  • Interventional radiology

How do I refer imaging studies to a specialist?

You should gather the original images of the studies that have been performed. The imaging format can be either electronic in CD/DVD, (which will typically be given to you directly by the imaging department where the study was performed) or in hard copy. Once you have them, you send them by courier to Consult a Specialist. Regardless of the format, all image studies you provide us with will be returned to you along with the specialist’s report.
