Services

If you have a serious medical illness or an uncertain medical diagnosis, Consult a Specialist can help you answer
two basic questions: Is my diagnosis correct? and What are the best treatment options in my case?
Consult a Specialist will refer your case to one of the best specialist in the United States for you to obtain a well informed medical
opinion at the time when you need it the most.
The specialists can provide a second opinion regarding the following:
How we do it
Once you request a service from Consult a Specialist, a clinical analyst will contact you and will create a medical
record with all the information and studies related to your case. After carefully reviewing your records, we will refer
them to the specialist who can best answer any questions you may have regarding your diagnosis and/or treatment.
Approximately ten business days after your medical record was completed, you will receive a detailed response to your
questions from the specialist.
The role of Consult a Specialist
Consult a Specialist only provides you with the expert opinion of one of the most renowned specialists in your
disease and does not intend to replace the physicians who are already treating you. Once you receive the
specialist’s response, you may discuss it with your treating physician and come up with a diagnostic or
therapeutic plan that reflects the most recent advances in the treatment of your disease. However, if you wish, we can
work with your physician to help implement the specialist’s recommendations.
How long does the process take?
You will receive the specialist’s response in writing in approximately 10 business
days after your medical record was completed. However, if your case requires that certain studies (e.g. biopsies) are
reviewed for a second time, CSS will take the necessary time to ensure that the specialist’s response is detailed
and based on the best information available.
In what language is the specialist’s response?
We provide the specialist’s response in English. However
if you wish, Consult a Specialist can translate the response in to the language of your choice.
